If you feel like you're about to have a panic attack, here are some steps you can take to manage the symptoms and prevent a full-blown panic attack from happening:

1. Breathe Deeply: Take deep breaths to help calm your mind and control your breathing. Breathe in deeply through your nose, hold your breath for a few seconds, and breathe out slowly through your mouth.

2. Practice Mindfulness: Focus on the present moment and try to be mindful of your thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations. Use mindfulness techniques such as deep breathing, meditation or visualisation.

3. Relax Your Muscles: Tense and relax your muscles. Start with your toes, then move to your feet, ankles, and upward throughout the body until you reach your head. This can help to release physical tension and prevent the panic attack from worsening.

4. Find a Distraction: Try to distract your mind from the sensations and feelings of panic. This may include engaging in the activities you enjoy, such as playing music or painting, getting up and moving, or talking to someone about their day.

5. Seek Professional Help.
